Strike Books What follows is just a brief selection of the countless books and pamphlets that were published either during or just after the strike. Most will be out of print by now unfortunately but some should be available in local libraries. Hundreds of books and pamphlets appeared for fund raising purposes during the dispute but also to tell the story of the strikers themselves, free of the bias, evasion or outright lies of the media and government. Published 1994. Tells the story of the surreal attempt by Robert Maxwell's Daily Mirror in 1990 to smear Arthur Scargill and Peter Heathfield. All the charges of financial irregularities during the strike were conclusively refuted, and Roy Greenslade, editor of the Daily Mirror at the time, later made a full apology.
